"I Will RISE Again!!"
(TSU'LEBI SANU'BI)
is a modern Kit'Yowa - Tsaligi cry
that our ancestors of One Fire also voiced as they would rise and fall along the rocky paths of life.
In the middle of the village stood a high pole. On top was a pure white flag with seven red stars all with seven points, in plain view of everyone scurrying around to get their days "care-taking" done.
It held high purpose
The "PURE WHITE" field flapped it's message in the wind - of remembering to walk the White Beauty Path Of Life, and of each person's responsibility of working toward ...
self purification.
The red of the seven pointed stars impressed the duty of living to their full potential and being successful in life. Success was for the benefit of all relations of the Chosen People and of all the seven family clans of the village.
This cry today generally refers to an individual's on-going struggle to erase the debasing situation that our Cherokee fathers were submerge in after White interference within the nation between AD 1500-1900. That great destruction robbed self esteem and dignity from The One Fire Keepers, as well as everything else they once had; such as freedom, solidarity, honor, true spiritual security, national management, self reliance, humor and happiness.
To lose their "all" in the 1800's was devastating to each person in their Nation. They determined to "RISE AGAIN" to their original dignity from within the hovering cloud of doom that hung in desperation over them. However, year after year their unique Spiritual Path Ways that brought them dignity... became less and less remembered. Too soon the Kit'Yowa found themselves being "lowered" slowly in degrees from their original culture. They melted into a blend of White man's religions, culture and their own increasingly insecure spirituality. Ironically more and more intermarriages took place between them and the White Christian people. This caused the Nation's "individualistic-cultural loss."
Many of those marriages were with White people participating in various religious "Cherokee projects," which were based upon the need to "Christianize" the "poor heathen forest child." In many cases the biased White Man's religions that had evolved around them, caused those of the Fire, to forget the Ancient Beauty Way of their own. It had always included a "Savior" from the beginning of time, but not understanding that Christ was Yohowah, many became "Christians." It brought them to Jesus Christ, yet unfortunately, fixed a solid image in their minds that Christ and ancient their Creator were two different people.
Their ancient spirituality taught the same as the Latter-day Saint "religion" does today, that only the pure are welcomed back home within heaven's inner family... after the tests and trails of this earth's life. Therefore, the need for "a plan" or "a path way" to help us return to heaven is needed. Those teachings tell us that only here upon the earth do we break heaven's laws of unity, love, right relationships and the oneness of eternal friendships. We accept the truths that only Christ gained purity and perfection "without" having to leave home to live those things fully. The rest of us "struggled, and while yet in heaven needed a "plan" to help us find purity "away" from home.
Out of the Savior's own desire, our Honored Brother came here to "assist" us to do just that. He did it "knowing" while away from pure living, His heavenly brothers and sisters would become impure through worldly errors of not walking a "white" path. By His coming to earth He left the message of a "sure way" to return home. He taught that return could be a reality through a "cemented relationship of a Wisdom Temple's sealing ceremony." This needed to be preformed through His name, and accepting His blood sacrifice. As we eventually learn to walk earth's pathway of selfless love and caring - we can become pure, just as Christ did in heaven. Heaven's law is that no "unclean" thing can enter into heaven without "earthly sin" being paid for. The "sure way to return" is found in ancient Cherokee "Original Instruction" and the completeness of modern "Revealed Renewed Truth." The "key" to it is found in the personal direction and authority from our living "Savior." He didn't leave us alone to flounder.
Although He had already attained Godhood in His own right, He was willing to come to earth Himself to teach Father's in the meridian of time. Father was willing to allow His Son to use His own pure innocent blood in payment for an impure person's sins. This was The Plan determined by all as the way back to our Father and Mother in the Star World. The heavenly law concerning that "redeeming effect" has always been the same whenever it has had to be returned to earth's people. Perhaps we don't know how many times that has really been given to different peoples through time.
We know it was so with Adam and Eve, it was also the same with Enoch, Noah, Abraham, John the Baptist, to Jared and his Brother and perhaps other family members. It was also given to others of Jerusalem who were brought to this continent just a few hundred years before Jesus' birth. There are some hints that it was given to others of our extended family who stayed true to Father's paths and had been left in the old world. It was restored to Moses, then the twelve who followed Jesus after his birth in both Europe and the early Americans.
It was restored again one last time to Joseph Smith Jr., in these latter days for the White colonists invaders of Abraham's lines who had also lost Father's pure knowledge and authority. It is interesting to note that in the old Cherokee language one name for Father's Son, is "The Second One, or Adanv'ti." The word for one's "heart" is adanv'to also. He was recognized in early Promised Land Cherokee families as "The Heart Of Heaven"and "He Who Builds Perpetual Friendships" between us all. What a wonderful way to say He loves us enough to save us from behaving in ways that could cause us to miss out on being sealed together as a heavenly family forever.
Some Cherokee family stories speak of several
"national destructions" that were caused from spiritual divisions to our people through the 4,000 years between Babylon and now. They also tell of their many survivals and the constant family stamina in such DNA, which allowed them to RISE UP afterward, over and over again. Such stories of that kind of will power are found in the Cherokee "Eloh," other Cherokee histories and non-Cherokee sources of information like The Book Of Mormon.
The Cherokee aren't the only group to come to this Promised Land to loose their Sacred Fire. Our past Prophet Spencer W. Kimball once said of a group that came here from Jerusalem fifteen hundred years after those saved from Babel's destruction;
"....at the time of Mormon, 1,550 years ago, his brethren had already dissipated their religious life and had forgotten the redemption of Christ".
Once again speaking to all Native Americans, including the Cherokee, he made it clear to those who may have forgotten who they are,
".....You are of royal blood, he said, the children of Abraham. Your father was Abraham, than whom there were no greater ones. Abraham was a great man who walked and talked with God. He is your father back in those many generations. Be proud of him and know that you are of royal blood, and with your royal blood you can achieve, RISING TO THE TOP".
..... (of their true dignity and true spirituality.)
As Latter-day Saint Kit'Yowa Family Members...
We fully believe that The Creator who made all heaven and earth is "The Great Spirit - Jehovah" who also directed Adam and Eve, Old testament prophets and other "Chosen People.
We believe that Jehovah is the Lord Of Wind, Waters and Fire who brought our Cherokee ancestors to the isthmus between North and South American Continents four thousand years ago and that they are also known as "Jaredite People" in the Book Of Mormon.
We believe that through Jehovah coming to earth as Jesus Christ He exemplified for us a spiraling pathway toward home to be done in the peacekeeping beauty of life's full-circle connection.
We believe that Jesus Christ was made flesh that His innocent blood might be payment for the impurities of men. That through the living waters of His true words they might be accepted as completely pure once more before All Creation in perfect balance, harmony, caring relationships, love and Universal unity.
We believe all these things, for we know them to be true through our own individual pre-earth spirit's memory of the plan made in heaven and by the comfort of truth given through the Holy Ghost, our Spirit Brother, The Sure Witness who is known as "The Sacred Sound Within" and who witnessed to our ancient Cherokee families who followed Father's true "Spirit Pathways also..
"Da'lodi!" "Arise!"
I "WILL" rise again!
