A Place Of Inspiration And Golden Wisdom
The ancient ritual of "Greeting The Sun" each morning in it's
daily birth, is nearly lost to the modern Cherokee world. In the long
ago time, helping the sun rise above the eastern horizon exemplified
a new light rising within one's soul each morning. Dedication to
being a better mate, a stronger parent, a more tender caretaker for the
people, or just to learn to forgive,.......began at "Nu'tawa" thousands of
times in a lifetime for an Ancient One. In our own eyes, we have given a
helping hand to the new birth of light from heaven's east just enough to
know - that here is a gentle place where becoming a true Peacekeeper is
born, and that "re-birth" in this life can be continual.
Many of our LDS Cherokee Family sit on the hill pictured here often each
summer, in order to try to "help the sun up" and understand for just a little while
..... a feeling which our Ancient Ones lived with continually. In LDS truths,
"The Glory Of The Sun", refers to our Father's home up above also. Upon all the
great column tops of the LDS Nauvoo temple in Missouri the rays of that
Celestial Glory is repeatedly etched in stone, indicating the purpose of
the temple is for us to return to our Heavenly Parent's.

For Re-beautifing One's Soul
......and giving honor, under covenant, to the Creator -"U'nelanuhi" for Mother Earth's most powerful life force. It brought humility to The Old One's in a way that perhaps we shall never really experience! Living Water, is more honored than blood. As they would sit and listen to the Creator speaking to them, it was more understood by them than one can know without walking in their footsteps!
WATER OF THE EARTH.....the basic existing element connecting all life and creation!
WATER FROM THE HEAVENS.....the fresh restorer of physical health to nature and man!
PURE CLEAR WATER.....the servant healer and extended spiritual purifier and cleanser of the soul!
MOVING LIVING WATER....is the perfect symbol of the moving words of Our Greatest Teacher, Jesus Christ. It has been so valued for that reason that the rivers of the world were symbolically named by our ancient Cherokee as "The Long Man," referring to "The Creator." It was He who made all things by His living words. To sit by the sound of the waters was their way of listening to the beauty of the expression of the One Above who was always speaking to them of how they should live. Just as the waters of a moving river covers the earth, so will the words of the Son of God eventually sooth and cleanse all living things.

CLEANSING WATER.....MAGNIFIES the Creator's power for a restored basis of innate healing. It is needed for the continuation of our SPIRITUAL LIVES through purity and service. With this value in mind, mankind everywhere have been "Going To Water" for sacred purposes since He placed the first couple on earth. The Cherokee of old went to the water for every important aspect of their lives and every tribal function. Building a village on the edge of water was pertinent for all their physical, and even more importantly, their spiritual needs.
Our "People Of The One Fire" would go every morning, (and for many of them, every night also,) to face the direction of where the new day's sun Fire originates from. Some would go hours before dawn, or even stay the whole night through in order to meditate and determine to be a better person when the next days rays would begin again. It is the direction they knew that "The Good Mind" had come from when He visited them on the earth. It was also the direction He departed from when He left them to return to our heavenly home. They would take much time daily to allow new light to reflect the meaning of His moving words into their minds, bodies and lives.
After considering their choice of direction to go with the new day being offered to them, they would immediately go to the LIVING WATERS of the LONG MAN'S to re-cleanse. Most often it would be seven dips each morning in order to RE-MAKE themselves and dedicate their path to The Creator for the new coming day. Often a re-dedication of their future Sacred Journey would be made at the same time and cemented in the direction of returning home to the "Three Elder Fires Above."
Living Oracles of The Creator, of both our Ancient Cherokee and our modern LDS Elders have spoken endlessly on the refreshment found within the Living Waters of a divine source. Every Cherokee town was once established upon the rivers of living waters. Today, fountains, falls and running waters adorn the Temples and other places of attendance of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints where His Words flow freely from. He is indeed The Lord Of Living Waters.
