LDS CHEROKEE FAMILY MEMBERSHIP INVITATION FORM 2004

Attendance at Family Gatherings is not required for a full membership.

One form for each family member needs be run off for a paper copy and filled out by hand.

BELONG TO IS REQUIRED AS YOU MAIL IN THIS REQUEST FORM

You may duplicate additional copies of this form as needed. This form will go directly into the Head Voice of the Family. It will be read once and put in a private file. No one else will have access to it. If you are not accepted for membership it will be sent back to you if you send a stamped, self addressed envelope or we could destroyed if if you wish. Only send copies of your main documents.

NOTIFICATION OF EVALUATION AND/OR ACCEPTANCE WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU BY POSTAL MAIL

(There have been a few approved INVITATIONS to non-Cherokee persons who may ATTEND OUR FAMILY GATHERINGS that have been "EXCEPTION" to the following commitments such as; spouses or children who do not have Cherokee blood or who have the blood but are not active LDS.) We call these memberships, "Exception FAMILY STATUS memberships."

FULL ACCEPTANCE INTO THE LDS CHEROKEE FAMILY MEMBERSHIP DOES NOT MAKE A PERSON REGISTERED WITH ANY OTHER CHEROKEE NATION, TRIBE, BAND OR CLAN, NOR MAKES ANYONE ELIIGIBLE FOR ANY KIND OFCHEROKEE NATION AID OR BENEFITS OR UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT AID OR BENEFITS.

THE FOLLOWING COMMITMENTS HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED

WITH FULL VOTE BY THE LDS CHEROKEE FAMILY COUNCIL AS -

"THE APPROVED PERSONAL COMMITMENTS REQUIRED FOR FULL FAMILY MEMBERSHIP STATUS"

1. Absolute belief in Heavenly Father, the Lord, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2. Desire to be a personal witness of God and The LDS Church at any time, in any place or for any reason.

3. Committed member of good standing in The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints,

with a desire to honor and serve in that membership as called by Priesthood authority.

4. Desire to bring respect, honor and an appreciated understanding to other individuals, of our LDS doctrines as we know them to be true.

6. A blood descendant of the Cherokee Native American Nation, or a spouse or blood relation to a

person who is.

7. A desire to do your own Cherokee family research, and a willingness to complete all temple work needed if for each person found.

8. Desire to bring honor, respect and an appreciated understanding to other individuals of our LDS Cherokee Family activities and Cherokee knowledge as we know them to be true.

9. A willingness to participate in and be of honorable support, as much as reasonably possible, to the LDS Cherokee Family; in heart, activity, and with a small basic amount of financing.

(YEARLY CONTRIBUTIONS FOR YEARLY FINANCING IS DEPENDANT UPON EACH MEMBERS DESIRE and ABILITY)

10. Desire to stand by The LDS Cherokee Family's joint approval, acceptance and voting on all Council matters.

11. Desire to uphold present Family 'Spirit' of good balance, harmony and right relationship in all activates and contacts, and the moral teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

(This monetary pledge of $2.50, (monthly minimum), is for the Membership Card and Gathering mailing, web site up keep, to support money earning projects and basic Gathering needs, etc. It may be included with this FAMILY INVITATION REQUEST FORM, or separately sent to the above address monthly or it may be paid yearly. The amount of your total pledge is up to you, but please include your first $2.50 with your request form for handling expenses.)
