Osiyo (Hello),
Friends of Cherokee Native American Family Research!
We, as a non-profit ‘charitable Cherokee
Native American family history research and historical cultural
preservation group’ of spiritually innate Cherokee blooded individuals, belong
to the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. We call ourselves the ‘LDS’ Cherokee Family. We ask the Lord to guide us in our Cherokee
Family History research; to produce, secure and provide locations and sources
of Cherokee family information and truths, that we might be united with our
families of old and our Cherokee cousins of today. We believe the true prophecy of Native American ancient spiritual
truth is about to be fulfilled and unified for the world equality and
balance.
We the people, Peacekeeper
(Tohi’ugase’sdi) descendents of our ancient Cherokee Old Wise Ones
called ‘the Bearers of the Divine Fire,’ (Cheera’tahgi) unite in our
Family Gatherings because our hearts and spirits are beating to a new kind of
Cherokee drum. We gather because we
feel a new and everlasting covenant of responsibility. As followers of Jesus Christ, we seek after
our blood relatives who reach into the heart of our antiquity. Feeling our responsibility as
Cherokee DNA Native American descendents of those who anciently lived the
Creator’s full truth, we took to establish upon our own accord a free and
independent ‘latter-day special service organization. We do this aside from the
governing management of nationally recognized Cherokee Nations. We do this
aside from the governing management of our mother church to which L. D. S. C. F
members give our personal individual adherence to it’s principles, while yet
serving collectively within both obligatory responsibilities to church and
family, with our wholehearted integrity. This we do in full conscience, by
recognizing the same paralleled truths lived by our Cherokee Old Wise Ones
who are our ancient 'Peacekeeper' forefathers, to be the same truths we strive
to live by today under the mantle of Jesus Christ’s name and his
modern-day Latter-day Saint Peacemaker’s church.
Our responsibility to our families,
who have gone on before us, stems from the words of our Prophet Joseph
when he was speaking of seeking out and sealing ourselves to our families
who have gone before us. He said:
"The spirits of the just,...enveloped in
flaming fire,...are not far from us, and know and understand our thoughts,
feelings, and motions...and are often pained therewith. If you live
up to your privileges, the angels cannot be restrained from being your
associates."
The Cherokee Old
Wise Ones were called The Chosen Ones or The Real Ones of the Creator, just as
Latter-day Saints are called The Chosen Ones or Saints of his. We also, being individuals who claim to be
people of ‘a fire within’ that is the symbol of heavenly power for The Chosen
People of God (Cheera’taugi) unite together in an equality of true
balanced spiritual strength and invite all other’s of the Chosen of God
to join with us in harmony. We meet in
love and respect with our related One-Fire Peacemaker descended Cherokee (the
A’ni Yunwiya) families of today. We
do this for the purpose of searching out and bringing honor to our ancestor’s
enduring spirits, and our endearing relationships with them. We also extend
ourselves for the preservation of our everlasting family ties. We hope such unity will soon be based on an
everlasting spiritual ‘oneness’ under our old and new everlasting covenant from
our ancient family, Father Abraham (Equa’hami), through our Lord, Jesus
Christ (Tsisa Golonedv) the Heart of Heaven (Adanvti), who is the
first begotten Son of our Heavenly Parents.
It is in our heavenly home in the star worlds where we determine to be
with them forever. We pray that he who
we know as our Redeemer and Savior and the Creator of All will send his peace
to all our Cherokee Real People brothers and sisters of the Cherokee Native
American Nation now living on Mother Earth, and ask to each ask to each
descendent, “Are you my friend?”(Dohitsu
Ogi’nali’I) For we are yours!
We, through our
latter-day Plan of Salvation and our ancient Wisdom Secret Teachings of the
Sacred White Journey (Kanv’waodi U’dami’lagi) , both which
teach us how to return home successfully together, ask also that we
may be guided to build the Rainbow Bridge (Unvgo-ladv Asvtlvi ) of
friendship between our modern Cherokee cousins and Latter-day Saint worlds
through an outreach of today’s multi-media, the many avenues of family research
and our prayers. We, the LDS Cherokee
Family, are a separate clan of People of Fire (Cheera’tahgi) from other
Cherokee groups. We look forward with true honor and
increased opportunities that are available to us today - to unite as one family
through our ancient ancestors to the several Cherokee nations, tribes, bands,
clans and people’s common welfare of the Cherokee Principal People.
We, being faithful members of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are tied together as a spiritual
peacekeeping people of like traditional convictions to uphold and be witnesses
to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Golonev Tsi sa). We honor him as
the Master of Life and Creator of all the heavens, of our earth and all it’s
creations, and the Savior Redeemer of all peoples of the Universe. We honor all of the creations that the Lord
has put here upon this Mother Earth as well as the heavenly bodies of the
Universe. In addition to being the
‘Creator’ (U’nela’nauhi), we stand in support of Jesus Christ as being
the ‘Peacemaker’ (Anotlv’sgv tohidv and the ‘Great Spirit’ (E-qua
Adanvto or Ma’nito’u) within all creation. We revere his handiwork and feel it our responsibility to be
stewards for our Mother Earth. We also
feel our given responsibility is to learn from each and every potential teacher
found in nature while helping to restore those teachings of the Great Creator
to our families and neighbors.
We are a charitable
special services membership organization, with additional desired group
focus to be of comfort and help to our ‘living’ Cherokee Native American
descended cousins regardless of religious or spiritual preferences. We are
learning daily of ever more ways to find our Cherokee forefathers and share
that knowledge with all who may need our help.
We are also reaching out to other Latter-day Saints who would like to
join with us in doing so. Membership
information may be found on page 14 in our Internet Web Site listed below.
Some of our goals and
purposes are to prepare listings on the Internet for:
1. Personal Family
History Research Opportunities,
2. Individual Family
Genealogical Support,
3. Historical
Cultural Preservation,
4. Assistance in
Personal Cherokee Family Extraction
We work on a non-profit basis and are just now in the process of
establishing information covering these areas.
While we are yet searching and learning how to do this; we feel a
oneness with our heavenly angel family (Ani’ Adawee), and join in their
long ago Cherokee cries of:
“Do it!”
(Na’sgi
Do’hna’dvga)
and
“May The Great
Spirit's Blessings always be with you!”
(Yigaquv
osaniyu adanvto adadoligi naqvv utlogasdi nihi.)
God Keep You!
